Epic Specialty Restaurants

The Epic has an enormous number of specialty restaurants.  We were able to experience three of them.

Moderno- Brazilian Churrascaria-  $20 per person. This was a phenomenal meal.  Come hungry and leave, very , happy!  As the succulent skewers of barbequed meats are carved table side, you control how much you want with the Moderno Green and Red Chip. Green for go and the carving continues or red to stop. Also, enjoy a wide selection of perfectly prepared salads, sliced meats and traditional accompanying dishes from the salad bar.  This salad bar can fill you up before you realize it, so be cautious when making your plate.

La Cucina- Italian Fare- $10 per person.  A colorful piazza-style, Tuscan-esque Italian restaurant serving pastas, pizzas and more.  The ambiance was romantic.  The food was very good.  The breads were tastey.  I am not a fan of Italian sweets, but they were delicious considering!  The view overlooks the front of the ship and provides a gorgeous setting for sunsets when the ship is headed westbound.

Cirque Dreams & Dinner- $34 per person for seats with a view.  $25 for obstructed view seating.  This is a one of a kind theatrical dining experience. The evening's special is…an opulent entertainment extravaganza presented with an array of world class talent, Broadway acrobatics, a touch of whimsy and tasteful participation. Enter a world where personality and presentation are served with spectacle and celebration during an unforgettable dining experience…"Cirque Dreams® & Dinner".  We purchased the Premium seats because I had heard that the balcony seats were the best place to see the show.  We hurried up to the balcony and I immediately felt like I was lied to.  Yes, we were able to see the acrobats at eye level, but MOST of the show was on the ground floor.  I would have preferred to sit in the Premium seats at ground level. We were also squeezed in very close on the top floor.  My husband and I are thin, but if you're average sized it could be uncomfortable. It is important to note that the standard seats are located in booth in the very back, some of the aerial students could be blocked.  The meal itself wasn't spectacular, but we didn't book this for the meal, we booked it for the show.  That being said it was still tasty :)
